I've still got the original 2014 maps in mine and its mostly fine except a bunch of western states bumped speed limits since then so thats often wrong in like Kansas, Oregon, Idaho, Utah that I often travel. I just had the dealer update my MMI yesterday (2018 A3). I had software version 1196, and they updated it for free to 1363 so that the Google Earth-type maps would work again. I had an early 2018 model, so I had been able to retract my screen. I guess I need to check if that still works.

Darlington. May 21, 2017. #2. For the RMC / SD card based navigation there is no hack available to activate the maps. All the maps on audiupdate are for A6 hard disk based systems, also even if there was a way of hacking the SD based system you may invalidate the warranty on your MMI system, as the dealers system knows what MMI & maps version
I've uploaded 2021 NA digital map data downloaded directly from Audi Connect Canada to Google Drive. Took me 3 hours to upload the file (slow upload speed). 2021 NA Map Data for Audi Q7 - The file is pre-zipped by Audi which is roughly 11GB. The unzipped files are about 14GB.
